that 100% instantaneous compliance from all persons at all times is acheivable and necessary and their absolute due.   ANY delay or confusion, let alone actual resistance, in their mind justifies massive and complete escalation.

if you can stomach it and it becomes quite clear that police are going overboard.

Yeah, yeah, they have a tough job and all that. I get that, and I for one would not want to be a cop.
Howfreaking ever, there comes a time when even the most brain addled idiot can see the abuses many police employ.

The incidents keep on keepping on and they will until the bad apples are reigned in. Until then...same old shit.

I can't stomach tv in any form, or movies about guns which is most of them.  I can't even watch Breaking Bad even though it's filmed in my hometown and my brother-in-law helps film it.   I'm a delicate flower!

and storytelling, and she actually had a paid gig for awhile as a performer in an outfit called "The Crisis Company" that provided live simulation training to law enforcement and other groups.  It was run by somebody with police experience who also had expertise in mediation, conflict resolution, and mental health.

The performance troupe would provide a rough script with mutiple branching points to better and worse scenarios.  The actor would interact with small groups of trainees, and later the larger group would replay and discuss each interaction.  The idea was to reinforce behaviors consistent with good community policing, and model a path to better outcomes.

My sweetie particularly liked playing the wild-eyed bag lady being ejected from a public building, who might or might not precipitate a nasty scene with a steak knife depending on how she was treated.

It was a good project, as far as it went.
