  •  100 watt bulbs are for wussies (8+ / 0-)

I had a Creepy Crawlers maker and a Vac-U-Form. They had real hot plates. The Creepy Crawlers used metal molds that you would squirt Plasti-Goop into. The heat would make it set into a rubbery plastic

The Vac-U-Form was really crazy. It had the same square hot plate, but you suspended a thin square of hard plastic above the hot plate until it got hot enough to sag. You had a mold on the other side of the device. When the plastic was hot, you would through the swing arm with the hot plastic over on top of the mold and pump like crazy on the vacuum pump. It didn't always work, but when it did you got some nice stuff. I only remember the two-part little boats.

I have heard that they have replaced the light bulbs in the Easy-Bake Oven wih a real heating unit because they are afraid that you won't be able to buy incandescent bulbs much longer.

iron type of toy, I remember I burned myself playing with one. Those were the days!

You have exactly 10 seconds to change that look of disgusting pity into one of enormous respect!

Pretty much the definition of "educational."

I probably burned the plastic in the Vac-U-Form once or twice.

I think that you tested for doneness in Creepy-Crawlers by poking them in the center with a toothpick until the toothpick didn't come away with goop on it.

Pretty much the same as what you do with most baked desserts.

        •  that's right, they later made edible Creepy Crawlr (1+ / 0-)

I guess that was okay for boys to cook with!
