    ..taxes.

In Minnesota a few months ago, Dem lawmakers voted for a sales and gambling tax to finance a new stadium for the Minnesota Vikings.

In Detroit, Dem lawmakers have set the property tax rate is as high as 7% of property value.

In IL a few years ago, the Dem governor increased the income tax by 66% on every household.   A struggling middle-class family pays as much as hedge fund billionaire Kenneth Griffin.

And I can go on and on.

So, let's take Dem lawmakers to task as well, for increasing the tax burden on the working poor.

Specifically, there is no excuse for helping a billionaire owner in MN build a stadium for a privately-owned football team.

every lawmaker needs to be held to account, party affiliation doesn't matter.

In the end though - the people need to make them listen and act in there best interests, no matter the party.

Closet regressives and turncoat politicians seem to be the biggest problem in state level politics.

The Illinois state constitution requires that the personal income tax be a flat tax with no brackets.  I suppose he could have and should have gone for a constitutional amendment to change that, but the state needed more money in the short term.  It was so bad that state agencies literally did not have enough cash on hand to pay the bills coming due.
