Who's going to do the training?  Are the teachers going to be trained to pick up on symptoms of PTSD in their protector?

I'm an Army brat. WWII dad.  With friends and family serving now.  So I know the vast majority of military folks are fantastic people.  But finding 98,000 of them with absolutely no issues.....well, that could prove to be a challenge.

    •  Why are you taking this out on Veterans? (0+ / 0-)

You see an something that has NO MANDATED funding from a political party famous for it's cheapness, and here you are, trying to eviscerate veterans for something we are not responsible for. WTF?

Shouldn't you be taking this up with the politicians that act as mouthpieces for the Gun Lobby and the GOP?

Or you could just come to my house instead and tell me what a no good crazy bastard I am and my husband must be, because hey--we are vets and vets are bad, and somehow vets are responsible for all this!

Oh wait, I get it. Veterans are with in reach. You can at least try to bitch slap us, but you can't get to the Poly-ticks that are responsible, so why not just grab whoever is handy and emotionally beat them up!

      Feel better now?

      •  GM - I've been at this for decades (0+ / 0-)

Gun control is a big issue for me, having been touched by it.  I have been all over politicians, gun owners, gun sellers......for years.  That others are now coming to the party warms my heart.

        •  The reason your post pissed me off is pretty clear (0+ / 0-)

As usual, vets are being blamed for something that is the doing of the elected representatives.

VETERANS are not responsible for this problem nor this suggested solution.

I am so happy you have been at this for years. Congratulations. Now drop the tired old trope of Veterans being crazed by their service.

If you are unhappy about the way Veterans "are" when they return from the field, then I suggest you do all you can to improve the services of the VA and make sure that the almighty govt isn't able to find loopholes or otherwise bully us out of any treatment we might need, that is probably ours by right of contract.

And it would HELP if the quality of treatment were improved. You know a lot of vets will only go to the VA to DIE because they want to spare their family the expense at a hospital.

You obviously KNOW nothing about what Veterans face regardless, and you blame us for this too.

So in short: STOP BLAMING AND STEREOTYPING VETERANS.
