So the NRA comes forward with a plan to focus on mental healthcare and police in schools and the press and the gun control crowd are adamantly opposed to the idea. Why? When it was first proposed in 2000, following the Columbine attack, it was a great idea. Of course, that's when the same idea was presented by President Clinton:

Now, we just get snickering and more of the elitist commentary about how dumb gun owners are. What happens when reporters don't know the camera is on? They make fun of gun owners and the NRA:

I'm not really on either side as I'd rather wait for data but this does seem really hypocritical.

Sen. Feinstein, 1/3 of US schools already have armed guards. I don't see the value in it except on a case by case basis, but you're right: when Clinton suggested it, it was all good...

The NRA and its members are being made fun of. The poor souls. Will no one think of the precious NRA?

Like MichiJayJay said--people have had enough of their bullshit and people aren't going to be cowed by the same old arguments and attempts to deflect from the issue. Honestly, I can't imagine why people are telling the NRA where it can go after pushing an old idea after how many mass shootings since Columbine? So...the NRA's caught up to the year 2000. Kudos to them, but it's not nearly enough.

Sorry. That organization isn't getting off the hook this time.
