during EARLY voting. I voted in DC about nine days before the election (on a Saturday). The lines were long, the room was packed and the few electronic machines that were working were often occupied by a slew of elderly folks who did not know how to properly work the touchscreens. And yet none of us were going anywhere!  I myself never even thought about walking away. It was DC which was a guaranteed win for Obama. I could have departed and it wouldn't have mattered. I could have done early voting later duirng the week or the following week. Hell, I could have voted on Election Day. But I was galvanized and prepared myself ahead of time to stay no matter how long it took. And I'm guessing many of the people in the room that day felt the same way.

When I saw the huge lines of Obama supporters that day during early voting in a city in which the electoral votes were a lock for Obama I knew it was a sure thing that the prez would be re-elected.
