  •  There are plenty of cities (5+ / 0-)

where first responders won't respond unless they are accompanied by police. We were numb to these headlines, now we are hyper sensitive.

I have no sympathy for people who use these crimes for political purpose. It makes me  wonder if there was some crocodile tears  on the part of the diarist who posted this .

    •  I suspect that a great many people, (8+ / 0-)

especially those who don't live in cities, have no idea that this sort of thing happens.

Just like so many people have no idea how many non-white/blond/pretty/young-women die or disappear -- because if it's not people you know, and it doesn't get reported in the media you pay attention to, it's as if it never happened.

took place.  Found out about it at our extended family's Christmas Eve party.

That was an inappropriate comment regarding the diarist's motivation in posting the diary.  It makes me sick that someone like you is exploiting this crime where I live by leaving such a nasty, inane comment.

Was it political exploitation when DKos membes wrote diaries about the BP catastrophe?

Is it political exploitation when people report about bullied LGBT youth people driven to suicide?

Were the stories about Hurricane Katrina simply political exploitations, too?

Were the diaries about torture and wireless surveillance by our government merely political exploitation, as well?

Or is it only stories about shooting incidents that involve political exploitation?  Don't talk to me about effing crocodile tears.  People died today in my city.
