    LOL--I like this.  In one of my novels the protagonist likened believing in religion to "a little boy being nice to the neighborhood grouch in the hope of getting a cookie."

    Ojibwa, have you encountered a book called How to Solve It?  A man who sat next to my younger son on an airplane was bemoaning the fact that mathematics ability has declined drastically in this country.  He said that if one read this book one would be able to master any mathematical problem.

    I actually ordered the book and glanced through it.  Made my head spin.  Math is not my strong point although Trachtenberg and my algebra teacher did make me perceive the beauty of it.
