  •  Think About How Many Drunks Cops Meet.... (0+ / 0-)

Often those drunks have just killed someone in an automobile accident.  It often works out that it was the drunk's fault.  And......the cops have to interact w/ the families of those killed.

Often the drunks walk away, still alive, on their wobbly legs......right to the drunk tank where they belong.

As a nightshift RN for 25 years (6 of those years in a chemical dependency unit)......I've meet a lot of drunks.

Cops may laugh to keep from crying.  Drunks get old.  There is help available for your friend.  Perhaps he could seek out that help.

They were making fun of him. He was at home and does not even have a vehicle.
I too worked where I saw the aftermath of DUIs, but that does not excuse their behavior.
There is no excuse for it.
Sorry that you think there is.

America never needed so much in the last election and got so little.

It's black humor.  It goes w/ the territory when you work a high stress job, day in & day out.  Cops, nurses, EMT's, docs, ambulance drivers see people probably on the worst day of their lives.

We're all human, just doing the best job we can.....even the laughing cops.
