I can completely understand your fear, and I am so sorry that our country seems to be degenerating so fast. I hope the sane people in this country try to take it to a safer place and do so successfully. I fear that we are all going to have to live our lives with armed guards everywhere.

My husband and I visited Egypt shortly after the massacre of tourists in Luxor in 1997. There were armed guards everywhere to protect the tourists. I was more afraid of the guards than being killed by terrorists. Many of the guards were young boys who didn't look old enough to shave. They were carrying Uzis, and I just hoped that either the guns weren't loaded, or that the guards didn't sneeze while their fingers were on the triggers.

We are rapidly becoming a third-world country where we have to have armed guards everywhere to protect us. That's good for the gun manufacturers, but not so good for us.

Sometimes you've gotta stick your neck out on a limb.
