I am probably overreacting to the article and your comment. It wouldn't be the first time I misunderstood someone's intent. I definitely hear what you are saying. I just wanted you to be clear where I am coming from.

To me it's become a very either/or issue. It's either a bunch of violently murdered kids or moving the fuck forward on gun laws. The dumbest, nuttiest Wingnut fringe are freaking out over this story - and I think we ought to let them sweat. If they get some hurt feelings - I don't fucking care. I am completely over their "my guns are more important than kids' lives" stance.

      •  What I see is mob action, retaliation against (0+ / 0-)

people with regard to criminal acts, that if they had committed, would no longer be armed.

I am against Mobbing in any form. I don't believe that retaliation ever makes for good legislation, and it certainly doesn't make for good neighbors.

I can respect the strong feelings that people have on this matter, some entirely justifiable--even the very angry feelings. BUT, that anger, even when justifiable never excuses mobbing, bullying, or retaliatory acts for simply NOT living the life you approve of.

I am not sweating this. Maybe it's because I am not a dirty wingnut, but I certainly do not approve of the abuse of a publication's awesome power against people who have committed NO crimes.

The press is powerful. And too often it is used to divide this country, while the 1 percent plunder it, rather than maintaining it's integrity as the Fourth Estate, observer and reporter of important issues of the day.

This list was nothing more than an abusive editorial.
