I think that it is time to start treating the republican house in the same way that you treat spoiled children that demand attention and gifts.

Ignore them completely, the silent treatment.

Just issue press releases about whom to blame.

But...hi ho, hi ho, it's over the cliff we go....

Bye-bye $5,000 in taxes.  As long as it goes for elderly, roads, college kids, disabled...I'm fine with it.  If it goes to the clowns' salaries?  Not so happy about that.  They seem more adjourned than in-session.  Maybe we need to change how salaries get paid to give more incentives for work.

Why is anyone surprised by this boorish intransigence?  What is it about the GOP's behavior during the past 4 years that would suggest that it is capable of behaving reasonably?

They act like spoiled 3 year-olds.

Moreover, the whole idea of creating a "fiscal cliff" to try to induce responsible, cooperative behavior was doomed from the start.  An utter waste of paper.  And get ready for more of the same with the next debt ceiling vote.
