    and in fact am firmly opposed to the chained CPI "fix" for Social Security which was proposed as part of the "grand bargain", it should be noted that an unemployment insurance extension was also included.

    Thus, I think that the extension of UI is a high priority in the mind of PBO.

    As well it should be. I do not believe this whole thing is a laughing matter, but I do think that the proper tactic is to let ALL the tax cuts expire and then proceed to fix things one item at a time. Hopefully an extension of UI will be a priority. I know my local paper is beginning to trumpet, on the front page, the dire situation of those who are unemployed...

    There are only two types of Republicans: 1) racists; and 2) people who are willing to be associated with racists.

      As you say:

      If only we could trust the media to report the facts, without all the hype and ....nonsense.  It would make it easier to form an intelligent opinion.

      Fortunately, DK exists and fills that void.
