  •  When I was in my early 20's (13+ / 0-)

    someone close to me died in a car accident.

    I realized at that point the most important thing ever-- Tomorrow is not promised to any of us.

    Since then, I have taken some crazy risks, grabbed some terrific opportunities, and probably screwed up more than many who played safer.

    But I have to say I would have few regrets if today was the last day of my life.

    No, I haven't done everything I would like to have done, or accomplished all that I might or wanted to.

    Relationships could have been better, and maybe I should have spent more time cultivating some and ignoring others.

    Sometimes my life looked like a train wreck. But, all in all, it could have been a whole lot worse.

    I can't justify everything, but, as MLK said, the arc of the universe bends towards justice.

    I like to think maybe I've helped that happen a little bit, here and there, even if I never made it to the grand stage.

    I must be dreaming...
