    the debt limit and instruct the Treasury to proceed as if there were no limit. Let Congress try to do something about it.

      existing law of the platinum sovereign coinage act, or whatever it is called would add a sufficiently plausible constitutional basis for such actions that might be preferable to an open defiance, which would result in all sort of legal consequences.

      has been under a 'state of emergency' since 9/11 by decree of the bush administration which obama extended .... it essentially means the rule of law has been suspended indefinitely.  Why the politicians play their little dog and pony shows constantly must be their desire to make people believe there is a functioning government somewhere in DC.
