  •  More rights to data? Yeah. (0+ / 0-)

Private organizations and private people have the right to have more information about themselves and/or their members than the general public has about them.

My priest knows a whole lot more about me than is available to any member of the general public through a FOIA request. Why should my church have more rights than the general public? All private information should become public information! When nobody has the right to privacy anymore, it will surely lead to a better society.

    •  Ah, but you misunderstand, (0+ / 0-)

The NRA gathers this public information about you, just like the newspaper did, without any consent from you. So back to my question, does the NRA have more right yo your public information than the general public?

You are not required to register your membership in your church, you are required to register (in NY) your ownership of a hand gun. (And your car, and your real propery, and your political contributions.)
