Would they feel it was just a rounding error? Serious question, not meant to be snarky. I know if I were rich I would be grateful to be so, and it wouldn't matter to me, but a lot of rich people feel that they are being forced to take care of the "takers".

America is a COUNTRY, not a CORPORATION. She doesn't need a CEO. Vote Obama.

    •  I can't speak for webranding, but my family (12+ / 0-)

is in a similar position, and they voted for Obama with the understanding he would raise their taxes.  I mean, no one really wants to pay more in taxes (all things being equal), but my parents understand that the additional expense to them is totally trivial in terms of their quality of life, but would make a huge difference if the same revenue had to be extracted from someone on Medicare or Social Security, or making the median income.  So they support an increase in their taxes.

I know it's hard to believe, but there really are rich people out there who get it.

I work for two relatives, one in the 1%, for sure, the other in the .0001 percent. The 1%er grumbles about it, but the .0001%er hasn't said a word and both voted for Obama as well. I used to have a job that paid me 5X what I make now, and would have qualified for me for the .01% back then. When I got those checks, I was so in awe of how much it was, it wouldn't have mattered to me if it was 5% less. What you said:

is exactly how I felt about it.
Thanks for your reply. Happy New Year!
