can't orchestrate himself out of a paper bag, much less conceive and carry out some grand secret behind-the-scenes scheme involving multiple branches of government.  What you see is what you get -- utter chaos.

that there really are two opposing sides here.

You really think they wouldn't show their hands at first meeting, telling each other exactly what each side would pass, what they wouldn't, and come to the conclusion early on?

Congressmen are litigaters.  They argue for their clients.  And each side thinks they can win so they hold out for more.

I still contend however that from the beginning this has all been an exercise by the powers that be.

Remember.  JP Morgan bailed out the country at the start of the 20th century, and since then we've been in their control.  We are America, Inc.

that Wall Street wields tremendous influence in Washington, you're suggesting the whole thing has been an orchestrated theatrical production tantamount to a conspiracy.  You might be right, of course, but I don't see real evidence of this beyond speculation.  I do think that negotiations were conducted by both sides with an eye towards what was possible to pass Congress.  As to what the House GOP might accept, Boehner demonstrated epic misjudgment in this regard.

that with money comes power.  And that when men are elected to certain offices of power, they are given a choice.  Take the money and vote, or have your families threatened.  Money can make a person disapear.

The higher the office, the greater the threat to your loved ones.
