    They think it affects "those other people".  Violence occuring in cities doesn't bother those living inside their gated community McMansions.  It's only when mass violence occurs in places they consider themselves "safe" does the concern appear because it could affect them or their families.

    Sad, but true and that's why the Sandy Hook massacre has definitely changed the conversation about guns in this country.

    There already is class warfare in America. Unfortunately, the rich are winning.

      to make the number of gun deaths invisible to people. Making all gun deaths - accidental and deliberate - visible to people would really help.

      I know that "science" and "data" are generally reviled by the crowd on the right, but to move forward we need the data and it needs to be in the public consciousness.
