For me, a sinistra person?  They were an easy choice.  I liked the artistic styling possible, and had older friends who shot/collected Browning Hi-Wall and Lo-Wall guns.

    I like bolt-actions just fine, and prefer older Mannlicher-Schoenauer double-trigger, butterknife-handled rifles.
Again, they don't make them in a style suitable for my eye-dominance.

20 Round, as that was the original M-16 magazine.
Being a M1A shooter, 10 would suffice.  I believed however, it would be a hard sell to AR/AK owners.

As to your tax question?  Give me more to work with.

    •  I think a magazine sized to hold 20 .223 with (6+ / 0-)

a physical block (the original size of the magazine and its fitment for the weapon mandate a certain minimum size, or the fracking thing will not function correctly) to limit capacity to 6 to 12 rounds is a reasonable start. How you'd make that tamper proof, I'm not anything like engineer enough to figure out. Welding, maybe? Or make the bottom 1/3 of the magazine a solid block of metal?

But then I've got no love for the Bushmaster ... the original Colt-made rifles were orders of magnitude better, and they were stamped-steel government-contract low-bid quality.
OTOH so were the Apollo craft and the Saturn V rockets that took us to the moon....

As Buddabelly's signature line points out, sometimes you need the capability to stave off the Reaper that a dozen rounds offers ... Don Alejo, RIP.
