  •  I relied on SF MUNI (8+ / 0-)

When I was an ignorant 19 year old living and working in San Francisco. The N to the end of Judah.  After that moved to the corner of Pine and Leavenworth. Sometimes would cablecar home. Fond memories.

In the end these things matter most: How well did you love? How fully did you live? How deeply did you let go?

Hyde & Leavenworth. Listening to the cable just go "ZZHHHHHHHHHHH" with no other city noise. That would be around 5am only-or whatever time they crank that thing up. I had a great old apt that looked out at St. Francis hospital. Drank campagne. Good times. 1984.

Sutter, btwn Lyon & Presidio. Sucked. Endless "POPS!" as electric buses popped off the overhead lines after leaving the Muni yard. No mi gusta.

300 block of Virginia, off Mission. No. Just no.

Fled to Marin for the next 20 years. Now in exile in Colorado...

      •  back in '80, visited my cousin & her hubby when (5+ / 0-)

They lived @ 1957 Pacific. Walked ALL OVER the city for three days. Legs in agony, heart in flight. I believe I may have seen Robin Williams performing on the street. Maybe not. I remember thinking, "This guy is completely nuts. Why is he on the street?!?"
