If a certain book or belief comforts someone who is facing a difficult / fearful situation, what business is it to you - or me or anyone - to criticize it, especially so dismissively? As to being disappointed this diary is rec-listed -- well, as the comments themselves in this diary make clear, the topic engages us at a deep level.

The diarist is dismissive in his diary and downright abusive in his comments. The only depth here is emotional. Some of us do not feel that is healthy.

People are quick to say that religion is a personal thing -- and then promptly share it with the world and attack those who would doubt their convictions or call for a more level headed approach. It gets a bit tiresome to play the "it's my belief, what does it matter to you" game where someone who is clearly proselytizing.
