  •  You are just now running out of patience? (21+ / 0-)

Sorry if this seems rude, but my patience ran out after the FISA non filibuster, the cabinet appt, the extension of the tax cuts, kept working with the thugs even though they wouldn't work with him. with taking the PO off the table behind the scenes, off shore drilling, the BP corexit disaster, the DHS working with the FBI and other agencies dismantling OWS,'caving; witch is a polite way to say cover, the NDAA, the war on whistle blowers, not going after the bank crooks or the war criminals, the TPP that is worse then NAFTA and Congress has no say in it, oh hell, I could go on and on.
But my biggest complaint is the drones. Killing people we are not at war with. HOW many countries is the US droning now?
Have you heard about the huge base in Africa?
And no, I didn't vote for him.
Romney of course would have been much worse, but maybe people would quit saying Obama is just playing chess, and hold him accountable.

America never needed so much in the last election and got so little.

      re-legalize whaling.

There's not even a pro-whaling lobby to appease.

      Just a knee-jerk anti-activist and pro-corporate stance.

    •  I didnt vote for him either. (11+ / 0-)

Here in blue NY, I was afforded that opportunity without having to concern myself with aiding Romney/GOP. If I had been in a swing state, I would have had to wrestle with my decision on another level.

I will add to your list the damage Obama has done to public education with his widespread "reforms" via Race to the Top (a Trojan Horse full of salivating Wall Street hedge fund operatives, many belonging to a group called Democrats for Education Reform).

Local Reform Supergroup to Take On Unions

The New York State Education Reform Council will include the new StudentsFirstNY — which has hired away Mayor Bloomberg’s Albany lobbyist — Democrats for Education Reform, and charter-school-advocacy and upstate organizations.

“We’re going up against one of the most powerful interests in Albany,” Democrats for Education Reform Executive Director Joe Williams said, referring to the New York State United Teachers and United Federation of Teachers. “We don’t stand a chance if we’re not aligned and focused.”

      Obama's Education Agenda
While it was easy for the Wall Street tycoons to finance charter schools like KIPP and entrepreneurial ventures like Teach for America, what really excited them was using their money to alter the politics of education. The best way to leverage their investments, Brill tells us, was to identify and fund key Democrats who would share their agenda. One of them was a new senator from Illinois named Barack Obama, who helped launch DFER at its opening event on June 3, 2005. The evening began with a small dinner at the elegant Café Gray in the Time Warner Center in New York City, then moved to Curry’s nearby apartment on Central Park South, where an overflow crowd of 150 had gathered.
      •  Arne Duncan, America's CEO of Education! (11+ / 0-)

Obama gave a huge boost to the corporatizing of America's public school system (and weakening of its teachers' unions) a la Chicago's system. What was happening in Chicago was a huge reason for the birth and ascendancy of CORE, the rebel teachers' union caucus that rose to power a few years ago, with the community alongside it. This was to fight back (like with the recent strike) against the business model damage Obama's favorite non educator Sec of Education, Arne Duncan, had done as Chicago schools' CEO.

The unravelling was done in concert with former Mayor Daley, Democrat, who had control of the schools as does our NYC mayor, Bloomberg (sometime Democrat), much to our dismay. As with the Daley-Duncan Duo in Chicago, most of NYC's education deforming was done in his first 2 terms with the help of big reform fan, former Chancellor Joel Klein (who parlayed that into drawing a huge salary from Rupert Murdoch, hawking tech ware to our schools).

In Chicago, apparently they've even dropped all pretense of being pro public ed. They call the schools chancellor the CEO. Too rich.

Given the record on the enviroment, education, and every issue one unearths, there is no doubt in my mind that this man, President Obama, is a conservative. The best I can say for him regarding a progressive/liberal showing is political opportunism. And, obviously, he isnt flying solo.

Sadly yes.  I've been hoping something decent will win out.  After all these accomplishment of Lisa Jackons are also Obama administration accomplishments to point to and some are big ones.
