  •  My mother (10+ / 0-)

always refused to buy stocks.  She dipped slightly into the Mutual Funds before she retired, but basically didn't believe in them, either.

B/c her father lost a bundle in the crash of '29.

I don't trust the stock market either, partly b/c of Mom and partly b/c I don't trust the people who run that particular casino.

BTW, I don't go to real casinos, either.  My little bit of discretionary income is better spent on books, or movies, or a nice steak/duck/seafood dinner once in a while.

At least I get enjoyment out of that, and I know in advance how much it will cost me.

To make the argument that the media has a left- or right-wing, or a liberal or a conservative bias, is like asking if the problem with Al-Qaeda is do they use too much oil in their hummus. Al Franken

income though I like to go down to St Louis for some of the live shows (usually near any major holiday), especially by this one group which is absolutely hilarious.  Much better than a Casino or even a regular movie even though it is a 2 hour drive each way.

You have watched Faux News, now lose 2d10 SAN.
