  •  I agree: it's skewed (10+ / 0-)

Seriously... every year, a bunch of famous people die. Also: a bunch of babies are born, any one of which might hold the key to political or medical breakthroughs. Progress has been made this year, as in every year, but these retrospectives seem to zero in on all the negative things.

I spend as much time as I can outdoors, working in my yard. Any daylight seems to help (and any outdoor chore is more fun than any sort of housework!)

Those who do not understand history are condemned to repeat it... in summer school.

    •  I got a new hatchet from Santa this year... (8+ / 0-)

I plan on going out and chopping a bunch of kindling as soon as I can recover from the flu I got two days before Christmas.

Until then, this couch is mine, all mine.  Heh.

with a v-shaped top designed to hold logs securely while they're being cut (I'll even be able to rope them to the thing if they are odd-shaped) - but want to stain or paint it before putting it outdoors. Meanwhile the 4 pm dimness all day, often with heavy rain, makes it difficult even to weed or deadhead stuff.

Thank heavens for the wood I've already cut that's under cover.

I have a real hunger for sunlight and warmth.
