  •  Trouble with humor (5+ / 0-)

is frequently an autistic trait Homer, both on delivery and on receiving. My son struggles with it as well, and often asks for clarification as to why something is funny. Sometimes he reminds me of Data on STNG that way. He does like watching comics though (old Bill Cosby, Jon Stewart, Lewis Black, MST3K, Steve Colbert, and Big Bang Theory for example) and he's working on working through it. I'm sure you will as well, it just takes time. He's starting to get it though sometimes I hold up an invisible "Sarcasm Sign" like they use on Big Bang Theory when he's taking something too literally (usually I just have to tell him I'm holding it up).

Humor online in written form is even harder, because there aren't laugh tracks or any visual cues. You can't hear someone else laughing and realize it's humor and then figure it out (which is why I tend to use j/k for joking a lot).

I would advise you watch and study comics, and stay with more overt humor at first, work your way up to more nuanced snark. Use what you're comfortable with. And if you're not sure about your delivery either mark it as /snark or j/k.

    Hope this helps you!
