Farmers are producers of a core strategic necessity.  They have to grow crops and bring them to market reliably, or urban representatives' districts will get hungry.  And then they start rioting, which looks very bad.  Democrats are usually on top of things enough to think a couple of steps ahead.

does not apply in the New Democratic party. They don't even care about  'national interest' which would include an economy that's fit for people to live in and buy food.. As Axelrod said 'this is the world as we find it'. It's not it's the world they are creating. It's the world that our government by-partisanly supports and the one Clinton proclaimed was 'inevitable'. Food is just a commodity that they make an obscene profit from, globally, regardless of the price humans and the planet are forced to pay.

A resource that's necessary for human survival, a necessity that is now owned by big ag who's only concern is maximizing their obscene global profits. This land is your land does not apply anymore. The world and it's bounty all belongs to those who believe that their profits and the disasters they create, are the 'way forward. They make a killing/ profit from the destruction of the planet that sustains all life. How anyone can call this a free market is beyond me. The planet and the humans who live on it cannot afford the price.
