  •  Knot, (12+ / 0-)

I really like the idea of We are tenant's on the Creator's Earth.

Those that say all material was put here to be used, need to be asked, Okay but didn't the Creator mean in a responsible way?

    •  He actually said so (11+ / 0-)

You are correct!  We have to ensure that this world can be relet to someone else once our tenancy is completed

      •  This reminds me of the parable of the talents (5+ / 0-)

in which three stewards were given money to look after while their master went on a journey. One got five talents, one got two talents, and one got just a single talent.

The stewards with five and two talents invested the money wisely and, by the time the master returned, had managed to double the money. In return they are rewarded. The third, though -- out of either laziness or distrust of his master -- has simply hidden his money in a hole in the ground. The master is angry: why did he not at least put the money in a bank and earn interest, if nothing else?

In the same way, God has left us in charge of this world and what have we done with it? We certainly haven't managed to double its ecological "value". We haven't even preserved it as it was. No -- we've taken the precious "capital", the value that God entrusted us with, and spent it for our own gain!

If the human race doesn't wise up soon, we may well found ourselves thrown into the "outer darkness" of total ecological/societal collapse.
