  •  Grizzard, I hear your concern for fairness... (8+ / 0-)

but in reading the story as posted, there were pictures posted online of the events and the persons who did them.

Maybe, just maybe, the photos were photoshopped.   Maybe, just maybe, the group decided it would be fun to act out something that didn't happen for the cameras.

But I'd say that by posting such pictures of the event, the participants skipped right past the "don't say anything bad about me until I have my day in court".   In posting pictures, participants made it public, and in doing so, invited public judgement on their actions.  Certainly they'll still have their time in court--but is it your contention that no one else in the community should know about what was posted?   That it should all be kept quiet until the time, likely in a couple of years or so, their trial is over?  And of course, they've finished high school and played football all the while?

I don't think, surely, that's your intent--but that's what would happen if we're to avoid condemning the accused in an event that was made very public.

that Gr1zzard replied he didn't agree with White's statistics, but hasn't replied to your points here, though he had time to post a diary ... fffft.

      Bingo

Oh, but I suppose maybe, just maybe, someone else posted the pictures.
