you can't convince some people. 20 years from now maybe they will see things differently. That writer from New York magazine (Jonathan something) was right: liberals are never happy with the president they have in office. All of a sudden Bill Clinton is a strong example of progressive fortitude and Hillary will live up to that example? That's not what folks on the left were saying even four years ago. And legends such as FDR , JFK, Truman and LBJ were huge disappointments to so many progressives when they were in office.  You can read up on stuff about that. Hell, you can try ordering back issues of The Nation during those eras to see that (and I'm not bashing The Nation, I'm a subscriber to the magazine).  It is what it is. Now even Jimmy Carter is an iconic figure in these folks' eyes despite the fact he never got solid support from them when he was in the White House. Too late now!

Clintons will be regarded as example "of progressivism" in the future, actually.

And I believe that after another four years, most progressives will actually realize that corporatist conservatives have been in charge since the DLC took over the Party, in the mid-80's.

Yeah, surely this issue will be resolved, once and for all, before the next Presidential election.

The only question will be 'how.'
