    The exact policies we need in place.

      on handguns for self-defense in the home.  I would not agree with an outright ban either.

      They were not talking about things like background checks, closing the gun show loophole, or requiring training.  Those things have not been ruled on yet, and I think it's very likely they would be held constitutional.  Those are areas in which it's worthwhile to spend effort.

        But then I remember the SCOTUS we have and I despair.

        Honestly I don't think we should put faith into the current court, and should change the constitution so as to allow for laws that will protect us.

        Of course, you are entitled to your opinion.  I personally would support an outright ban.

      The whole point of the Bill of Rights was to take certain policy choices of the table.

      States' rights? Corporate rights? Militia rights? Government rights? Hell no! Only individuals have rights. Proud lifelong human supremacist.
