"CPI has to be off the table because it's not a winning argument to say benefits for seniors versus tax breaks for rich people," said Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.).
Since when has toying with benefits for seniors been a political winner for anybody, Republican or Democrat?

Master McGrumpypants:  Please reveal which voting block will be thrilled with you & your Republican weirdos damaging entitlements.

You Republicans act like there is a massive demographic out there chopping at the bits to see the age of SS raised & Medicare benefits slashed.

I want to know which specific voting demographic is behind this idiotic crap.

You Republicans act like if you can just screw up SS & Medicare, the GOP will reign supreme for the next 100 years.

Again, I want to know what voting demographic wants this.

I realize it's a hard question to answer, since I am not offering you the proper Sunday morning homage.

But I would really like to know which electoral college projection puts Republicans way ahead if only Republicans would just fuck up Social Security & Medicare.

depend on these programs, but who are supremely confident that their benefits will be maintained while the "freeloaders" benefits are cut.  Not all voting demographics vote logically.

      •  Yeah, Chris Hayes had a tbagger on his (0+ / 0-)

show yesterday that will give you a real clue about what we are up against. She has all the talking points down but no real sense of what will happen. She talks about deficits as if that is all that matters. She has been, to all intents and purposes, brainwashed and very happily so. She has no ability to think beyond that parroting patois she has down. But she is willing to purity test the hell out of any rethug that passes tax hikes or doesn't take on entitlements. Koch bros would be proud of her.
