    And your argument about the wealth tax does not fly. You cite amendment 16

    which clearly talks about income, not about wealth. Also, IMHO, the public will be much more sympathetic to an income tax than to a wealth tax. If you earn something, you can give a part to gov't to do its job. If the gov't wants part of your steady state money, that is direct re-distribution, and as such a much more difficult sell.

      but they'd have to come up with an equal amount of money from each state.  I have no idea how this could possibly work.
