    I missed this completely.  I did not know he had passed.

    I read "I Saw It" about two decades ago.  A very little bit of Gen as well.

    Just recently I have been picking up volumes of Gen to read the complete work.  I am through five of the ten volumes now.

    Unfortunately many people can't...or won't...get past the crudity of the artwork or the shortcuts of manga storytelling but it should be required reading for EVERY student everywhere at some point in their studies.

    It is probably the most important story told in graphic form EVER.  Even more so than Maus because Gen is a primary document.

    I am sorry to learn of Nakazawa's passing.  I am humbled by his work...and his suffering.
