    on the bill are vastly different from the reasons the Republicans are giving.  Democrats know that Obama has given away valuable leverage in future negotiations by supporting this bill, while the Republicans simply refuse to vote for any kind of tax increase.

      that logic only applies to Sen. Harkin. Bennet and Carper probably voted against the deal for the same reason as the Republicans, since they're from the conservative wing of the Democratic party.
