    SS funding is no joke -- its strength and credibility is based on the fact that it is funded through the payroll tax, and it should be. Perhaps an offset should have been created to lessen the blow -- some sort of 1-2% credit in 2013 for working. But the payroll tax levels should come back.

      It's become a ponzi scheme.  So I'm paying for people who aren't even born yet.

      So let the US print new money and pay for both.

      but if the cap was lifted, the SS payroll tax could stay at 4.2%.

      2% probably won't kill me, but at this point, I no longer feel as if I'm contributing to a program that will be around for me. My future seems to be some sort of perverse grand bargaining chip.
