  •  Regarding John Shimkus (R-IL-15) (0+ / 0-)

We have a small Democratic bench in IL-15 despite the heavy Republican lean of this district: the two biggest Democrats from IL-15 are Vermilion County Clerk Lynn Foster and State Representative Brandon Phelps. Foster is quite a bit more liberal than Phelps is, in fact, Phelps isn't all that far to the left of Shimkus and could probably win IL-15 in a 2006-type wave year, on the other hand, Foster would need a national collapse of the GOP (which, as I stated upthread, Republicans seem to be hell bent on actually causing a national GOP collapse) in order to win IL-15.

Shimkus's 2012 Democratic opponent was Angela Michael, a fake Democrat/anti-abortion zealot...let's work to get a credible Democrat to run against Shimkus this time!

Elizabeth Warren on the Senate Banking Committee is a BFD!

    •  IL was good to Democrats in 2012 (0+ / 0-)

God, is it really 1/1/13 already?  Gee.

Anyway, didn't Democrats win more than three seats in the House in Illinois?  This of course includes Tammy Duckworth who FINALLY won election after more than one congressional campaign.
