the President and the Democratic leadership being the stupid ones who didn't see that the GOP was going to what they had done for four years.

but they are not going to die nor are they going to starve, in fact very little will change, except they'll have to find a shit job to cover what they were making on unemployment just like I did when I saw this fiscal cliff nonsense playing out.
      but you CAN apologize!
      •  again, what? (5+ / 0-)

I live broke too. You fucking survive. Whining about your circumstances is called the blues, write a song and move the fuck on. Push us over the cliff and we can do more in a month or two, people will get by. If we keep letting the GOP hold us hostage we will never be able to address income inequality and a serious lack of jobs in this country. Instead we'll keep having to fight for scraps.

        •  i doubt you really know what "broke" is... (19+ / 0-)

ugh.  your comments indicate a very different reality of "broke" than many of us deal with hourly - no, from minute to minute.
          i
'm not going to get in a pissing match with you over who is poorer, especially since i don't own a pot.

Like the family of four living next to me on Grandma's disability and occasional baby sitting money. The battery in their junker van is dying and it's either that or rent.

Food stamps? They're great and I guess you could use store brand bread to wipe your ass if you had to. They already use baking soda as toothpaste (score!) but dish soap, laundry stuff? They would be fucked if it wasn't for some of us neighbors.

Did I mention there are four of them, two adults one with multiple auto immune illnesses and the other with pneumonia right now. She was fired from her shit job because she was sick, she has a kindergartener and a 2nd grader.

Thank gawd for Secret Santa, Christmas was bleak this year and let me tell you, they are as nervous as anyone could be. They are down to one fingernail on the edge, hoping to hold on to Grandma's little single wide.

              That is perspective.

and if was up to me I would make sure our less fortunate people had better housing and benefits then the ones being given now.

to unemployment is hooked to an economy that looks at workers as profit losses and nothing else. Why don't they unchain the UI from any bogus bargain if this bogus mess goes over the cliff fiscal mass deception.

Politics are not static. Harry knows how to pull procedural rule maneuvers out of his butt when he wants to get something through. He managed to get this disgusting grand bargain through.

Enough with holding the victims of this anti-democratic vicious economy  hostage and saying that okay you can survive jobless for 6 more months but after that you need to sacrifice and work at whatever wage that makes us more profitable?

None of this deals with what's wrong it simply makes it worse. what about the next wave of unemployed worker what about the people who are lucky enough to get a job at poverty level and still can't feed their kids. Austerity disguised as deficit/debt reduction. Talk about short sighted and ignoring the real immorality that our so called leaders are implementing and calling the way forward isn't even logical let alone democratic or helpful to the victims of this viscous run amok disaster capitalism that both sides support.

I was just trying to say we working poor folks would survive the fiscal cliff if it meant we could get a better deal down the road. It'd be worth the sacrifice.

I can't figure out if it's hypocrisy being used to defend this breathtaking sell out of any democratic economic equity or just loyalty to a pol.. These people screaming but what about UI,  are suffering from Stockholm syndrome and just to myopic to see the cause and effect at play.

We lost 40% of our income for 2 years starting in 2009. Were self employed a sole proprietorship business. No UI no food stamps no heath insurance. We survived but we were lucky as we had no debt some savings and I saw this coming so we did prepare. If people are so concerned about the unemployed why can't they see that it's a symptom of what is being done systematically and globally to our economy and society.

There is no way that this extreme viscous economic agenda and direction is going to make our society work for ordinary people. So strange to support a either a party or a pol that refuses to represent or fight for anything but the more cosmetic version of run amok unrestrained disaster capitalism. It's not to big to fail it already has unless your rich. This is not what a Democratic administration looks like. It sure as hell makes me think we've been screwed again by the rat bastards  posing as Democrat's.
