    •  What facts? (0+ / 0-)

The final outcome was predicted before the election. It went down exactly the way every "crisis" in the last dozen years has gone down. The losing side gets cover, because they got to make lots of impassioned speeches before the vote. The winning side gets to pretend they compromised.

      It's a show. A scripted show.

      •  There is a difference between something being (0+ / 0-)

predictable and it being scripted. Astronomers routinely predict eclipses but they don't script them. The current crop of Republicans are only slightly less predictable (or bright) than a piece of space rock.

        •  Then why (0+ / 0-)

did it work exactly the same way when we had a majority of Democrats in the House?

It isn't just the Republicans. When Democrats have the majority enough lie down to make the outcomes the same. Everybody gets to state their high principles. Everybody gets to posture. But the outcome is never in question.

Remember the health care debacle? Why couldn't we even get single payer considered with a majority in both houses?

It's not just the Republicans. The whole process is a sham.
