    that the best ways to keep people from protesting wars was to keep the cameras pointed in the opposite direction. Turning the national attention toward easily accessible entertainment ensured the population would never again achieve the cohesion necessary to challenge the power structure. That's why OWS received near-universal negative coverage, why the protests against the invasions were minimized, and why we don't see the bodies of innumerable civilians in Afghanistan and in Iraq.

    As long as the media is controlled by the top 1%, change will take far longer than it should.
