  •  It is amazing. There are people on our side (17+ / 0-)

    who are ACTIVELY CHEERING the permanence of the Bush Tax Cuts that were directly created to "starve the beast."

    And on top of it all, like kid says, instead of having discussion about economic growth, all we are going to be talking about is more cuts to things we care about. Well, that and debt ceiling.

    But no matter...all the White House has to do is send out a press release saying "we won" and folks just go "hooray!"

      will insure cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. The tax cuts needed to go away for everyone. Keeping the cuts for 98% was purely political. Obama isn't thinking about the long term consequences of extending these cuts. He has put the country into a position that insures we will have to make big cuts to the social safety net because we simply won't have to revenue to sustain them.

      For me this is all about the long term and wanting to preserve the social safety net and that can't be done without adequate revenue. So get ready for the cuts because they are coming.

      The only trouble with retirement is...I never get a day off!
