I'm not a supporter of Peter King nor would I ever even consider voting for him if I was one of his constituents.  I will point out though aside from his shaky relations with the Muslim community (which make me very uncomfortable), he's not a Tea Party Republican at all and he doesn't B.S. in the same sense as many other Republicans.  I remember when the Abu Dhabi port situation happened during Bush's second term, King was very vocal about being in opposed to it as he deemed it was not in the best interest of U.S. national security.  He was actually being direct.

I actually don't mind listening to King, even though I disagree with his arguments.  He is known to being more cooperative than most Republicans but that's not always a good omen.

Now that I'm thinking, why doesn't Peter King become House Speaker?  He's got more balls than John Boehner and he'll stick it to the GOP idiots like he's given Boner the middle finger.

On second thought, I know there are a number of Kossacks who want to defeat Peter King for re-election and that's fine with me.  On the other hand, I'd rather get rid of Eric Cantor, Darrell Issa and Steve King as they are two times more crazy than King is.

King is just as crazy in an oddball, emotional, loose cannon sort of way.  Very anti-terrorist except for his support of the Provisional IRA in the past.  He is in good company with Cantor, Issa and Steve King as the crazy mix that comprises the current Republican party.  He would have fit right in with the Republican Presidential campaign clown show last year and would have been just as entertaining in that repellant and horrific way that they all exhibited.

I agree with your assessment of King.  I'm never going to support him at all because of it.

However, you cannot deny that King is outspoken and vocal when something pisses him off or if he's being back-stabbed like other Republicans in New York and New Jersey have been over the Hurricane Sandy funding situation.

The reason why I don't classify King in the same sense as Cantor, Issa and King is because of the following:

        1)  Issa is a con man, just like Paul Ryan and has a very cunning reputation of being someone who can back his arguments very well while not being a dumbass.  Issa is probably known as the smartest Republican in Congress and that's scary.

        2)  Cantor is in bed with the Tea Party.

        3)  Steve King is WAY more sadistic with regards to immigration than Peter King.

That being said, I do think Peter King is his own kind of crazy.  I just don't view him in the same light as Cantor, Issa and Steve King.

But like I said, I'm perfectly fine with Peter King getting defeated for re-election.
