  •  Just got a look at our electric bill. (11+ / 0-)

    Up 100% from November.

Time to take the tree down and invest in sweats, heavy socks and digging the extra blankets out of the closet.

Four months to May and the mid-May ritual "tearingtheplasticoffthewindowsandputtingtheblanketsandheatersaway". Can't wait.

Jeers to #2 son who is an adult for, while being sick at his friends' house, waiting until midnight to text his mom about how shitty he feels and then texting until she shut her phone off at 3am. He works nights. Apparently, when he's awake, the world is awake.

a very tiny cheer to #2 son for having at least enough sense not to text Dad with that nonsense, as Dad would have got in the car by 12:30am, driven to said friends' house and made him feel a whole lot worse live, up close and in person.

Cheers that #2 son will officially move out sometime this month to live with another friend, leaving his 'rents to live in relative peace with a much improved budget.

I have a sneaky feeling that will be negated by a guilt-tripped wife who will assemble weekly care packages. I love her loving heart. I love my #2 son, but sometimes he treats us like "#2".

Why?  Isn't the whole point of raising children to teach them to live without you?

That's what Paul Kantner said, anyway.  What do I know?
