There have been no decisions announced on programming. So you're just taking this as an opportune moment to slam Gore?

Al Jazeera said it would start a new U.S.-based news channel with the acquisition, which will make it available in more than 40 million U.S. households, up from 4.7 million prior to the deal.
Only the most naive of people will think that some Current TV staff will not be terminated.

is "Killer Volcanoes," follow by "Twisters and Weird Weather", "Prison Gangs", "Prison Smugglers", "Biggie and Tupac", "Mexican Drug Wars," "Marijuana Outlaws,"

Then, we get to Current original programming with Jennifer Granholm, Young Turks, and Eliot Spitzer, before returning to:

"Prison Smugglers," "Prison Gangs," "Getting Out of Prison," yet another episode of "Prison Gangs,"

Then we get Gaving Newsome, before returning to:

"Tupca Shakur's Final 24," another showing of "biggie and Tupac, then "The OxyContin Express" (which is a really impressive doc), and then more of the same ("Marijuana Wars, Part 1", "Marijuana Wars, Part 2", "Hunter S. Thompson' Final 24", "River Phoenix's Final 24").

So when Al Jazeera says they are switching programming, I'd like you to tell me what you think they will retain from those shows listed above?

I've spent my entire life employed at some level in the entertainment industry. Shows gets cancelled for all sorts of reasons. Crews move on. No one expects that ownership to donate a portion of their profits to the crew.  So, I reiterate, you simply used tis story as a chance to slam Al Gore.

        •  none of the above will be kept (1+ / 0-)

Al Jazeera purchased Current TV for its existing distribution, not its programming.   Once the purchase is compete, after one year, none of the programs you listed will be continued.

Don't confuse what you would do with what Al Jazeera would do.

I did not say, Al Gore would not share his gains with those who become unemployed because of his sale, I raised the question.  Based upon your response, you believe that Al Gore will not share his gains with anyone he is not contractually required to do so.
