    •  yellow ribbons and SUVs and all that (none)
Why is it that every time I see one of those SUVs with a yellow ribbon I immediately conclude that the owner of the vehicle is a pro-Bush Republican wingnut?  Probably the reality is that some are and some are not.  Do any Kossaks drive SUVs with yellow ribbons?

How do we express support for our fighting men and women without giving the impression that we support their commander-in-chief.

From what Nameless Soldier implies, the "support our troops--bring them home" bumper sticker fits the bill.

      •  I saw a ribbon (none)
that was half yellow and half star spangled. I think it said remember our troops. It gave me the impression he was "blue".
      •  SUV non-wingnut (none)
Though ashamed to admit I drive an SUV (long story), MY car sports a bumper sticker that reads "I don't have to love Bush to love my country".  We're not all wingnuts...
      •  I agree re the ribbons (none)
I always think faux ribbon for a faux war.
      •  I've kept (none)
my "Mission (^NOT) Accomplished" sticker on my car since before the elections. Added a red, white, and blue "Support Our Troops" ribbon and a yellow "Pray For Our Troops" ribbon to make sure people realized I support our military personnel.

Recently, I glued (the only way it would stick) a big "Peace on Earth" window decal on my back window. Now I'm going to have leave early enough on Sunday mornings to get a front row parking place at church. Maybe that will remind the idiots at our church who voted for Bush a reminder of exactly what we got with that hypocrite.
