the idiotic Dems agreed to a state redistricting that makes it even harder for Ds to have control of the VA House of Delegates than for Ds to win the US House of Representatives.

Looking at VA,  as an example of how gerrymandering skews toward Republican Party, which sent 8 Rep and 3 Dem to the House.  The 2012 election:

    • The Democratic candidates won 48 percent of the votes (1.875m R votes 1.807 D votes .51 Other votes)
    • Two of the three Ds won by more than 100,000 votes (and the third by 85,000 -- largest margin of victory 211,000) while no R candidate won by 100,000 (largest R victory, 89,000)

Data from  Numbers are in 1000s.
