    I was somewhat surprised that Boner was handed back the speaker's gavel without more blood-letting.  Of course, as others have surmised; the outcome adds weight to the conjecture that no one else wanted it.

    I think the Teahadists loonies in the House are at least smart enough to recognize that they are a minority of the majority so going after the speakership is a fool’s errand for them. Further, they don't want to push Boner into a position where he consistently compromises with the Dems to get the votes needed to move any legislation.

    Regardless, the deal making will be made between the White House, Reid and Yertle and the House will be pretty much confined to a "Yea or Nay" vote operation on Senate passed initiatives (an yes I understand that money bills must start in the house which is easily overcome by inserting Senate language into a house bill.)
