  •  Scott Lively lives and works in Springfield (13+ / 0-)

About twenty miles south of me.  Right now he's having his homophobic little heinie sued in federal court over the Ugandan anti-gay law, and I hope he goes down in FLAMES.  What an evil, evil man.

    •  Why Then This Gratuitous Implication in the Diary? (0+ / 0-)
The homoerotic art, the sleekly pompous higher-ups , the dark-haired leader obsessed with blond perfection,...

Strange that a harp of thousand strings should keep in tune so long

      •  What's gratuitous about it? (0+ / 0-)

I'm not sure if I'd describe Nazi approved art as homoerotic but I know plenty of folks who would.

Nothing human is alien to me.

I am scarcely the only person to call Nazi-approved sculpture "homoerotic."  It's also a fact that Ernt Roehm, first head of the SA and the only person outside blood relatives who was allowed to call Hitler by the intimate "du," was gay, with a distinct preference for handsome young men.  The difference is that unlike Scott Lively, I don't correlate Roehm being homosexual with him being a Nazi.  One has nothing to do with the other.

Finally, the Nazi/Aryan ideal was tall, muscular, blue eyed, and blond.  Hitler himself didn't come close to this image of perfection, which may be why he allowed his subordinates to institute a literal breeding program to get as many blue-eyed blonds as possible, or why he either approved of or didn't much care when the Lebensborn program kidnapped blond, blue-eyed Polish, Czech, Hungarian, and Russian children for adoption by childless Nazi couples because their hair and eye color meant that they had to be Aryans.

of his own blue eyes, no doubt because they were the only overtly "Aryan" attribute he possessed.
