Got a new laptop (an HP Sleekbook), loaded with Windows 8 and Internet Explorer 10. When I open IE and try to load I get this:

    Message from webpage

It seems we've encountered an internet hiccupp, and your show didn't load correctly. Press OK to try again, or Cancel to skip to the next episode.

Except neither OK nor Cancel do squat -- the browser is frozen and requires Ctrl+Alt+Del to close.

This doesn't seem to affect inside pages. Installed Firefox (my default browser) and things are fine there. I have done the following, to no avail:

    Quit Norton security
lessened security level in IE options
    added site to Trusted Sites
    Installed Java

If it were just me, I'd just use Firefox and glad for one one reason not to use IE, but I'm concerned that I am not the only one that might face this problem and would like to know if it's the site, software, settings, or what, and how to fix it.

on the front page, with my Firefox. Front page always takes a long time to load for me. Maybe it's related.

    •  Odd, I'm using Win8/IE10 right now and no (0+ / 0-)

problems whatsoever. And I'm using it straight out of the box, no settings tweeks. Though I'm using not using Norton AV. And I even turned ads back on and it works fine.

What's wrong with America? I'll tell you. Everything Romney said was pre-chewed wads of cud from Republicans from the last 30 years and yet he managed thru a combination of racism and selling the (false) hope of riches to get 47% of the national vote.
