    The only thing that really seems to make a difference for our daughter is casein.

    When she was very little and before we realized she was on the spectrum, we use to go out to lunch once in a while and order her a hamburger with a milkshake. After this meal, she would act drunk!

    It was shortly after we dropped casein and gluten from her diet that her language began to develop. As it turns out, she has no real taste for milk products anymore other than a scoop of ice cream now and then. She does eat gluten on occasion now with no noticeable effect.
